Those ads promise typing work at home but they are scams. Don’t fall for those typing scams!
Here’s how some of those typing scams work.
Typing scam 1 – the typing list scam. Some ads mention that they outsource typing work to companies. They promise you a list of companies looking for typists to work from home. The ad implies that the companies need typists and provide typing work.
Why this is usually a scam. The advertising implies that they are connected with companies who will provide you with typing jobs. You’ll get a listing of companies in your state (not in your city).
You have to contact those companies and solicit typing work.
The problem: Those companies do NOT provide typing work. They are not connected with the advertisers and don’t even know about those typing job listings. You get a list of your whole state. You will more likely get typng work from people in your city – not your whole state.
It will also be difficult to get a refund because your listing doesn’t have the seller’s contact information.
Typing Scam 2 – the application fee. To get typing work, you’ll have to pay an application processing fee. You don’t get typing work. You’ll just get a listing of companies with addresses and phone numbers.
Typing Scam 3. You have to pay money before getting details about the work.
Typing Scam 4 – buying software. You’ll have to pay a fee for a software program to do the work. Companies providing typing work will usually let you do the work with a major word processing program such as Microsoft Word. You should not have to buy a specialized program.
